LG P535 Notebook – At the end of last year, LG resumed deliveries of its laptops to Ukraine. Upon return, three new product lines were introduced. One of the LG Blade lines consists of laptops with thin screens and minimal bezels around them. The LG Blade model P430 visited our lab last year. The line was later updated.
laptops received an upgraded NVIDIA GeForce 610M graphics card instead of the GeForce 520M, support for USB 3.0 in one of the three ports, and Intel technology. Wireless Display (Wi-Di), which allows a signal to be transmitted to a suitable monitor or projector without the use of cables.

Appearance and design
The soft blue color of the cover adorns the appearance of the LG P535, making it cute, calm and understated. However, not everyone will decide to buy a pastel-colored machine for their own possession. For some reason not accepted! But those who decide will not regret it. At least he won’t regret it for the sake of practicality: the cover is made of aluminum and, thanks to the texture, is completely non-marking.
Does not collect fingerprints and the base of LG P535, made of rough dark plastic. As in the associated LG P430, it is distinguished by some ornate shape: probably, the protruding hole with a hard drive is a family trait of slim LG laptops. These two laptops are identical in another parameter – the thickness. It is 24mm at the thinnest and 28mm at the thickest point, which is not much for a 14-inch LG P430 (if you don’t take into account the “model parameters” of ultrabooks. ), and for a laptop with a screen diagonal of 15.6 this is absolutely wonderful.
Like all new LG laptops marked with the letter P, the P535 has a slim screen – 4.7mm, which the developer says is half the standard for this type of device. Space-saving (and, in addition, contributes to the aesthetics of perception) and an ultra-thin ten-millimeter screen bezel.
This technological feature, together with the compact layout of everything and everything, has led to the fact that the dimensions of the laptop are closer to the 14-inch models than to their class brethren. As well as the weight: 2.2 kg – not so much for a laptop with such a large screen diagonal. The only aesthetic downside to the top half of the laptop is the dirt from that beautiful, thin and dark frame, which s’
The laptop hinges hold the slim cover of the device securely enough in any position, including the maximum opening angle (it is not too large, but sufficient for a comfortable position of the laptop). laptop on your lap). Overall, the build is decent.
Almost all of the LG P535’s ports and connectors are located on its side edges. So, on the right, the user will find two USB 2.0 ports, an optical drive and a connector for a charger. On the left side are closely spaced VGA, HDMI, USB 3.0, headphone and microphone outputs and a network port. There was also a place for a mesh covering the cooling system.
The front panel is occupied only by the card reader and the information LEDs. The location of the connectors on the left side felt too tight to me, and not the best. When using multiple ports, devices and wires can interfere with each other.
As you would expect from a model with a strong image component, the screen is bright. Nothing can be done about it: the shine is visible from everywhere, behind the screen, being in front of light sources, you will invariably see yourself with the surroundings. Also, for a 15.6-inch matrix, the resolution of 1366×768 pixels seems like a bad dream.
And increasing the maximum brightness would not be superfluous. But the viewing angles are large enough for a TN matrix, you can easily use a laptop to watch a movie while sitting away from the screen. You can also work with the device in your lap and tilt the cover to any angle.
Keyboard and touchpad
The keys to the island are located in a small depression from the palm space. All of them, except the arrows, are quite large. On the right, a number block is inserted, which, typing blind, hits first, but then you get used to it. The keyboard stroke is light, but I would like it to be clearer and more tangible. The touchpad is marked with a rough surface, it is medium in size, according to personal feelings, it is somehow “stringy”, not very comfortable. The matched key is highlighted separately, it caused neither positive nor negative. It will do.
System and performance
The laptop is based on the Intel Sandy Bridge platform and in our configuration is equipped with a Core i5-2450M processor with a clock speed of 2.5 GHz, 6 GB of RAM and a hard drive of 640 GB. The NVIDIA Optimus Hybrid acts here as a video subsystem, that is, a discrete NVIDIA GeForce 610M card with 1 GB of video memory is used for resource-intensive tasks, and to save time. power, you can switch (automatically or manually) to the integrated Intel HD 3000.
This configuration speaks of a multimedia desktop systems lens. The laptop is fairly balanced, it runs smart, but of course modern games can hardly handle it. In the 3DMark 11 performance test, the computer scored 749 points, in PCMark 7 – 1754 points. Windows 7 ranks the LG P535 at 4.8, which isn’t a lot, but most metrics except Windows Aero’s graphics performance are pretty good.
In general, it is a good modern machine for working, watching movies, as well as undemanding games.
Noise, heating, autonomy
The system doesn’t make a lot of noise even at high revs, but when passing the synthesis tests, the laptop was quite noticeably, albeit not critical, warmed up on the left side. In all other cases, the surface of the laptop remained cool. In charging mode (Battery Eater test, classic mode, maximum screen brightness, Wi-Fi on, discrete video card active) the laptop lasted 87 minutes, in thrifty reading mode (minimum screen brightness comfortable for reading, built-in video card active, Wi-Fi disabled) the laptop ran for 5 hours and 24 minutes. A fairly decent result for a 15-inch laptop.
In the dry residue
LG has become an interesting laptop for office and multimedia with a good design, compact body, decent performance and battery life. It might well replace the desktop, but it can also be useful as a portable solution. 4 reasons to buy LG p535:
Big screen in a small body
- Compact body
- Balanced performance, hybrid video subsystem
- USB 3.0 support
2 reasons not to buy LG p535:
- Incorrect placement of connectors on the left side
